O2-, also known as superoxide anion radicals, is a naturally occurring intermediate product in various physiological reactions of living organisms.
SOD is a naturally occurring superoxide radical gene in the body, which can convert harmful superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide through the above reaction. Although hydrogen peroxide is still a harmful reactive oxygen species to the body, the catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD) in the body immediately break it down into complete water. In this way, the three enzymes form a complete antioxidant chain.
