Glycine ethyl ester is a chemical with molecular formula C4H9NO2, melting point 95.5°C, boiling point 149°C.
It is white crystalline powder at room temperature. Easily soluble in water, solubility in water >1000 g/L (20 ºC), slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether, easy to absorb moisture when placed in the air, and slowly decomposes when the temperature exceeds 200 °C. Low toxicity, lack of toxicity data, its toxicity can refer to glycine, since the molecule contains hydrogen chloride, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. It is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of medicine and pesticide, and also in biochemical research. The molecular formula is C4H10NClO2, and the chemical structural formula is NH2CH2COOC2H5·HCl.
A powerful cognitive enhancer developed in Russia in the early 2000s for the treatment of alcohol-induced brain damage and as a mind-altering supplement, ethyl glycinate is a powerful substance that crosses the blood-brain barrier. It works primarily by binding to glutamate receptors and exerting a strong neuroprotective effect on the brain. Its high bioavailability also means that it is fast acting and may have cumulative effects.
Some studies also suggest that this supplement may help prevent oxidative damage to the brain. It also treats alcohol-related brain damage (which was actually the original purpose of its development).
