Calcium lactate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C6H10CaO6. It is commonly used as a calcium supplement to promote the formation of calcification of bones and teeth, maintain the normal excitability of nerves and muscles and reduce capillary permeability, and its solubility is small.
Calcium lactate, white granules or powder, easily soluble in hot water, insoluble in ethanol, ether or chloroform; it is a good agent for calcium supplementation and an ideal additive for calcium fortified food; it has the effects of reducing capillary permeability, maintaining normal excitability of nerves and muscles, assisting in the prevention and treatment of various allergic diseases, and maintaining vigorous energy and physical strength; it also has high solubility, large physiological tolerance, and the acid root is directly absorbed and metabolized without accumulation. It also has the advantages of high solubility, large physiological tolerance, and direct absorption and metabolism of the acid root without retention; therefore, it is considered an ideal calcium substance. In medicine, it can be used to treat calcium deficiency and allergic diseases, and it can also be used as a coagulant. In food, it is often used as a calcium fortifying agent, and is an essential calcium supplement for children, the elderly, and pregnant women. It is also often used as an epidermal hardener in fruit and vegetable food processing. In the feed industry as a feed additive, it can increase milk production, reduce the rate of egg breakage and promote the growth of young animals.
1. In medicine, it can be used for the treatment of calcium deficiency, such as hand-foot convulsions, skeletal dysplasia, rickets; also used for hypocalcemia in patients with chronic renal failure; also used for allergic diseases and adjuvant treatment of tuberculosis; also used as a coagulant.
2. Food additive, used as calcium agent for food nutrition fortification, used in baby food, dairy products, bread, pastry, confectionery, soybean products, pickles, etc. This product is easier to absorb as calcium supplements than other products; used as buffering agent and bulking agent for bread and pastry.
3. It is also often used as a skin hardener in fruit and vegetable food processing.
4. In the feed industry as a feed additive, it can increase the yield of milk, reduce the rate of egg breakage, and promote the growth of young animals.
