Lactobacillus royale ( L. reuteri ) is a well-studied probiotic that colonizes a large number of mammals. In humans, L. reuteri is present in different body sites, including the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, skin, and breast milk. 3.1 For cholesterol levels
 L. reuteri may work by helping the body to reduce intake and remove more cholesterol. It carries an important enzyme called bile salt hydrolase (BSH). This enzyme releases bile acids from their bound forms (uncouples them). Bile acids that are bound to the amino acids glycine or taurine to form bile salts are digestible. Free bile acids in the intestine reduce the absorption of cholesterol from food and circulating bile in the intestine, and the released cholesterol is flushed back into the intestine and bile and excreted in the feces, thus preventing cholesterol accumulation.
