Carboxymethyl Cellulos (CMC-Na) is an organic compound with the chemical formula [C6H7O2(OH)2OCH2COONa]n, a carboxymethylated derivative of cellulose, which is the predominant ionic cellulose gum. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is usually an anionic polymer compound made by the reaction of natural cellulose and caustic soda and monochloroacetic acid, with molecular weight from several thousands to millions.CMC-Na is a white fibrous or granular powder, odorless, tasteless, hygroscopic, easily dispersed in water to form a transparent colloidal solution.

3.Why use sodium carboxymethyl cellulose?
