Phenibut (also known as Nuphine or Fenibut) is a synthetic derivative of GABA, a neurotransmitter that is primarily inhibitory in nature. If you look at the chemical structure of phenibut, it is essentially a gaba molecule with a phenyl molecule ring attached to it.
